MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Ago
The Superveloce 1000 Ago is MV Agusta’s ultimate tribute to Giacomo Agostini and also celebrates the brand’s 80th anniversary.

Across eight decades of passion, innovation, and performance, no name has been more closely linked with MV Agusta than that of Agostini, the most decorated rider in motorcycle racing history.

To commemorate Agostini’s 83rd birthday in 2025, MV Agusta has unveiled the Superveloce 1000 Ago, a highly exclusive, limited edition of just 83 units worldwide.

Each MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Ago is:
- Individually numbered from 1 to 83 on a real gold plate affixed to the steering head
- Personally signed by Giacomo Agostini
- Delivered with a certificate of authenticity bearing the matching number

The ignition key of the Superveloce 1000 Ago is encased in two aluminium shells milled from billet and anodised in a striking red finish. What makes it truly extraordinary is the brass coin embedded into one of the shells—crafted from an original trophy won by Giacomo Agostini during his legendary career. Personally selected from his private collection and donated by Ago himself, the coin gives each motorcycle an authentic piece of racing history.

The Superveloce 1000 Ago features full carbon fibre bodywork, expertly sculpted to deliver both lightweight performance and striking visual presence. Finished in a breathtaking Fire Red Matt and Magnum Silver Matt livery, the design takes direct inspiration from Giacomo Agostini’s iconic racing machines.

The MV Agusta styling team envisioned what Ago’s bike would look like if he were racing today aboard a Superveloce 1000, blending heritage and performance.

In a nod to MV Agusta’s long-standing tribute tradition, the number 1 on a yellow background adorns the bike’s side fairings, with the same yellow hue accenting the CNC-machined headlamp crown.

This seamless fusion of historic references with modern engineering is also evident in the elegant silver-spoked wheels, which offer a vintage aesthetic.

The signature leather tank strap bears a gold plaque inscribed with “15 Titoli Mondiali”—a proud tribute to Agostini’s 15 World Championships.

The black Alcantara seat, embroidered with Agostini’s name, features arrow-shaped stripes—a detail lifted directly from his iconic racing suit. The MV Agusta logo is also stitched into the seat, echoing the branding on Ago’s original racing leathers.

In line with the design philosophy of the entire Superveloce family, the 1000 Ago is defined by its iconic round headlamp, horizontally flowing silhouette, and the use of premium materials such as carbon fibre, gold, and titanium—all contributing to its unmistakable identity.

One of the most distinctive technical and aesthetic features is the incorporation of aerodynamic carbon fibre wings, which remain visually exposed to emphasise both form and function.

Engine
The MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Ago is powered by a 998 cc in-line four-cylinder engine, delivering an impressive 208 HP (153 kW) at 13,000 rpm and 116.5 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. Engineered with 16 radial titanium valves, forged titanium connecting rods, and DLC-coated cams, the powerplant is capable of reaching 14,000 rpm.
Chassis
The Superveloce 1000 Ago features a high-strength steel trellis frame integrated with aluminium alloy plates, which serve as the mounting points for the single-sided swingarm, also crafted from aluminium alloy. The swingarm pivot point is adjustable, with the range of adjustment clearly indicated on a specially designed plaque—crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail that defines the entire motorcycle.

Suspension performance is entrusted to a state-of-the-art Öhlins electronic suspension system. At the front, the bike is equipped with 43mm Öhlins upside-down forks offering 120mm of travel, finished with a TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating for reduced friction and enhanced performance. These are electronically adjustable for compression, rebound, and feature manual spring preload adjustment.

To further enhance stability, the front-end setup is complemented by an electronically adjustable Öhlins steering damper, which can be configured manually or operate in automatic mode based on dynamic conditions, giving the rider maximum control and flexibility.

At the rear, the suspension package is completed by a premium Öhlins monoshock with a 36mm piston and 120mm of travel. Like the front, it offers electronic adjustment for preload, rebound, and compression, ensuring optimal balance and response across all riding scenarios.

Brakes
Braking performance is equally uncompromising. The Superveloce 1000 Ago is equipped with a Brembo high-performance braking system featuring 320mm front discs with lightweight aluminium flanges, paired with radial Brembo Stylema calipers housing 30mm pistons and controlled by a Brembo radial master cylinder. At the rear, braking is handled by a 220mm disc and a Brembo 2-piston caliper with 34mm pistons, delivering exceptional stopping power and modulation.

Electronics
Engine management is handled by the MVICS 2.1 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) with 8 high-flow injectors—four upper and four lower—and 50 mm throttle bodies, ensuring precise fuel delivery and optimal responsiveness.
The disengageable traction control system offers eight levels of intervention: two for wet conditions, three for road use, and three optimised for track performance. Complementing this is the Front Lift Control (FLC) system, which uses real-time data from the inertial platform not to suppress wheelies, but to regulate them at an ideal angle, maximising acceleration. This works in tandem with the Launch Control system.

Braking performance is overseen by an advanced ABS system with two intervention levels. In Sport mode, ABS acts on both wheels with cornering functionality and Rear Wheel Lift-up Mitigation (RLM) active. In Race mode, front ABS intervention is reduced, rear ABS and cornering functions are disabled, while RLM remains active, allowing for controlled rear-wheel lift under extreme braking.
Riders can select from four Riding Modes: Rain, Sport, Race, and Custom. In the customizable mode, parameters such as throttle sensitivity, engine braking, torque delivery, limiter, and electronic suspension settings can all be individually configured.
The MV EAS 4.0 electronic quickshifter enables seamless up-down shifting while the Ride-by-Wire throttle system includes a negative stroke function to disengage the standard Cruise Control system.

The Superveloce 1000 Ago also features a built-in GPS module integrated with the MV Ride app. This system allows riders to enter destinations and follow turn-by-turn navigation on the 5.5” TFT colour dashboard. The Trip Record function enables real-time ride data acquisition, including lean angle, throttle input, and speed, all viewable post-ride. Riders can also pre-configure bike settings directly from the app, further enhancing personalisation.

Another feature of the MV Ride app is the Custom Map function, which lets users create, name, and share performance profiles—such as a “Tuscany” ride setting—with the wider MV community.
Rounding out the electronics suite is the integrated Mobisat satellite alarm module, managed via the Greenbox app, with complimentary service included for the first year.

Dedicated Kit
As with all MV Agusta Limited Editions, each Superveloce 1000 Ago is delivered with an exclusive Dedicated Kit, underscoring the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and individuality.
